The Norse saw the rainbow and the Milky Way as a bridge between Midgard, the Earth, and Asgard, the home of the Asen, the gods. Pet lovers that have lost their pets to death see the Rainbow Bridge as the bridge into the afterlife. At this end of the Rainbow Bridge lie pleasant meadows and streams full of fish and small game, and there our departed pets wait for us, comfortable and cared for, happy except that they are waiting for us. At the end of our days we will find there those who are waiting, and will will cross the Rainbow Bridge, named Bifrost by the Norse, and pass together into our after life, Heaven, the Blessed Fields, Valhalla, Avalon.
